A Looooong Night

Vashti had a very bad night last night.  Her new blood-pressure medication is not agreeing with her stomach or GI tract at all, and…well, let’s just say that neither of us got much sleep last night.

The worst of it seems to be over.  Vashti’s clearly feeling a lot better, I’ve cleaned her up, and I’ve already spoken with the vet about changing her meds.  In the meantime, Vashti has been pretty insistent today (in her own gentle way) about my lying on the bed in our guest bedroom/home office so she can snooze on top of me.  Which–given how exhausted I am right this minute–is just fine by me!  ;-)

Poor Miss Vashti! There is nothing worse than a sick pet. They can’t tell you what hurts. I hope a day of rest will help her out. Give her some loving from me. :)

Poor little Vashti! So glad she is feeling better today and this is a picture of contentment–both of you! Cat naps are the best.

Vashti has such a great mom, to care and worry about her so much! You can really tell she loves and trusts you, look at that paw extended in a hug. I hope her meds can be readjusted so they do the job without upsetting her “plumbing”.

Poor Vashti, she must have wondered what was going on. Such a lovely picture of you both. She certainly appears to be content now; you to! Have a good rest.

    Gwen,
You are the BEST mom in the world! You can clearly see how much Vashti loves you and clear to see that you are devoted to her and her care. Glad you’ve both made it through a trying night.

I guess even kitties want their mom when they don’t feel good! Can’t think of a better way to fall asleep than snuggling with a beloved pet!
    Kisses to all!

I’m sorry to hear Vashti had such a rough night. But as any baby will tell you when they don’t feel well, there’s no better TLC than the kind that Mom gives…The proof is in the picture..so sweet..

We love our fur babies and don’t think twice to stay up and care for them when they’re not well. You’re a good mama Gwen and this photo just warms my heart. Vashti is a very lucky little girl…and so very beautiful. Wishing her the best.

Glad that Vashti made it through her latest ordeal! And the pic of you two together is so wonderful. You can tell how much Vashti loves ya!

Hope everyone is doing good in the Lerner house!

Got to go. Can’t stay long on the computer. My husband is in the hospital with severe back pain so I must get to him so that I can have lunch with him. The kids and I will visit him together after we have dinner. I wish I could take the cats – that would be special – but the rules say we can’t. My husband would love to see our purrballs!

I hope Vashti is feeling better and you can find a medication she won’t react to. How thoughtful of her to make sure that you caught up on your sleep :-)

I am catching up on BLOG entries Gwen — and I was startled and very saddened to hear of Vashti’s bad night! I hope by now your vet has the medication situation resolved…I’m sure sweet Vashti takes a lot of comfort from lying on your tummy where she can feel your heartbeats! And undoubtedly it helps you too….
