Bones the Cat in Foster Care, Still Needs “Furrever” Home!

blind black cat

Update from his foster mom:

“Anyone coming to NC next weekend:
If anyone has been yearning to adopt a blind cat or knows someone who has, we are searching for a forever home for Bones. We could bring him right to you. He’s a very sweet boy and gets around amazingly well. He is still spraying some but it’s decreasing and hopefully will banish once all those male hormones depart.  He chirps and mumbles when he walks and meows a lot but I think he’s using his SONAR. He gets along beautifully with other kitties.    :-)

As the “mom” of a blind chirper and mumbler myself, I highly recommend it as a lifestyle choice!  :-)

What happened? I thought he had found a home!

  3. Laura Carter says:

STOP THE PRESSES! Jody is keeping him – he DOES have his furever home!

    She says on FB:

“Bones curled up beside my head on a pillow. He’s finally able to rest. He was scared a little earlier when our dog ran inside unexpectedly. Bones literally crawled into my arms fior protection. Bones is staying right here in his forever home! He’s staying! When that sweetie crawled in my arms trembling and then settled down beside me for the first time to rest, that was it. I vowed to my hubby that this is it – no more. And I’ll have to keep that promise. The cat hotel is FULL but Bones is home!!”

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I told her I couldn’t have given him up, either, after (a) watching him negotiate stairs and (b) coming to me for comfort. “Dad” would just have to get over it! LOL

So glad Bones is settling in, and that seems to be what he’s doing: all this is very new to him (and he’s older than Homer was when Gwen adopted him, so has learned how to fear), but he knows he has loving arms to shelter him, and now that he knows that, and figures out that there are reliable locations for food, sleep, and litterbox activities, he seems like a bright, loving cat and will do very well.

Apparently Jody’s husband, at first, said they just had too many cats & she couldn’t take him, so that was why she was saying she was going to have to foster him & find him another home. But, as she said, when he did what he did re: the dog, … well, you know the final outcome! I can’t wait to meet him! :) :)

  6. So I came by for some updates (and hopefully good news on Vashti), and I got two happy newses!

I love that Bones found a forever home. It’s funny how that happens sometimes… it’s hard not to fall in love with a foster cat. Especially such a sweet one!

And second that Vashti is scarfing down baby food. Yay, Vashti! It really does work. When one of the kitties I feed in my office parking lot was sick, I bought baby food just for her. At first I thought myself a little ridiculous, but when it worked… it was great!

Keep up the good work, Vashti. Still thinking of you! (and you, too, Gwen — you’re being a GREAT mommy for her!)

Wish you could have made it to BlogPaws convention. If there’s any chance you can swing it, we’d still love to meet you! I’ll be there as a speaker — fun!
