Meet Me in Miami!

The official tour for LOVE SAVES THE DAY will kick off in May, and I'll have a list of tour cities and dates next week (hooray!).  I will, however, be doing one pre-tour bookstore reading in my hometown of Miami in the next few weeks.  Keep reading for more details...

So, as you know, my intention was to forgo the usual bookstore tour in support of LOVE SAVES THE DAY and instead travel the country visiting amazing animal shelters, sanctuaries, and rescue groups doing truly exceptional work.  But when I got the call from Books & Books, Miami's best-loved independent bookselling chain, I couldn't say no.  Partly this is because Books & Books (my favorite bookstore growing up) has always been so supportive of my work, and partly because Mitch Kaplan--owner of Books & Books and past presdient of the American Booksellers Association--is so dreamy.

Seriously, what bookish Jewish girl could say no to this face?  ;-p  When I was 13 I thought Mitch Kaplan was the bee's knees and fully intended to be Mrs. Books & Books someday.

Anyway--you're not here to relive my middle-school crushes, but to find out when and where to see me in Miami if you happen to be in the SoFla area.  So here are the details:

When: Thursday, March 28th at 8:00pm

Where: Books & Books Coral Gables, 265 Aragon Avenue, 305-442-4408 (If you live in South Florida and haven't been here yet, do yourself a favor and check them out--it's a big, gorgeous bookstore and one of my very favorite hometown haunts)

Why: Because we love you!  Also because my mom and dad will be there along with various elementary and middle school teachers of mine, and it makes them happy to think there are other people out there who actually like hearing what I write. ;-p

Bonus: The event will be held in conjunction with The Cat Network.  They're a SoFla non-profit dedicated to reducing the stray population through humane TNR and vaccination programs--and they'll be bringing several adoptable kitties with them to the event! :D

So, if you like books, cats, books about cats, or if you're just looking for a way to kill time on a Thursday night, I hope you'll come out on the 28th.  I look forward to meeting you in purrson!  :-D

    Congrats, Gwen!

I will be there! Looking forward to meeting you and can only imagine how happy and proud your friends and family are! You have truly come full circle in the best possible way. Never forget how much you and yours (humans and felines alike) are loved and admired! PS I grew up in South Miami, attended Coral Gables High School, and Books and Books was and still is an amazing place.

    Congratulations, Gwen.

Gwen, I wrote telling you how much I enjoyed Love Saves the Day but I neglected to tell you how very impressed I was with the obvious research you did on the music of the times. I am a musician and have taught popular music classes in higher education. Your writing was as if you had lived during the era and had witnessed first hand hearing the artists. It was flawless. And by the way, the suspense created when Prudence at all the flowers was wonderful. Great job. I look forward to your next book.
